New figures released this week show the market is posting record growth in the first three months of 2018

Mainly by a larger number of active player accounts.

On Monday, French online gambling regulator ARJEL (Autorite de regulation des jeuxenligne) announced a quarterly review of the online gaming market for the three months to March 31, 2018. The figures are based on official data submitted by all licensed online gambling operators and processed total revenue when all online gaming activities regulated by ARJEL increased by 47 million euros (over 233 million euros in March 2017) from January 1.

Regulators attribute the increase to a higher number of active player accounts. However, it should be noted that an individual can have more than one online game account as long as he or she is with different operators. In the first three months of 2017, there were about 1.5 million active accounts, but by the end of March this year, while most online gamblers and funders are still male, women are growing rapidly. Women are up 32 million percent from 222 million Qs.

The surge in female accounts in online sports betting is even more pronounced. Not many women are interested in online poker and horse racing. There are 73,000 online poker accounts (up 7%) and 54,000 women betting on horse racing (up 5%). Promotions and bonuses offered by sports books and gambling operators have been a significant driver of the increase to an average of 365 million euros (€46 million) per share.

Sports Betting Emerges As French Online Gamblers' Favorite Activity The fastest-growing segment of the online gambling market is sports betting, which recorded a record processing of 847 million euros (34% increase) during the first quarter of 2018. Online accounts with weekly sports betting activities increased by more than 120,000 to 462,500, with 1.3 million player accounts active at least once on sports betting sites over the entire period, up 40% from 900,000 in the first quarter of 2017. Betting on football events handled the most popular game of 654 billion euros, the most popular of France's 55 total online bets.

Another popular market was tennis, with bets rising 26% to 163 million euros (19% of total bet handles) and basketball rising 53% to 125 million euros (15% of total bet handles). The bets for the 2018 Winter Olympics are only 4.4 million euros, with almost half deployed as live bets. Sports betting has emerged as a favorite activity for French online gamblers, while the other two sectors saw an increase of 277 million euros during the race at the end of the first quarter of 2017. 바카라사이트 추천

The ARJEL report shows much more interesting online poker trends. At the same time, spending on cash games rose 18% to 1.1 billion euros, while weekly active accounts fell 1% to 79,000 euros. This is also why cash game revenue fell 2% to 24.1 million euros. On the other hand, weekly active tournament participants totaled 25,000 euros (144 million euros), up 5%.
